The task culminates with an essay style question which can be adapted to any of the exam boards for A Level or GCSE. Compatible with WJEC/Eduqas, AQA, and OCR. Please leave a comment if you enjoy the resource and let me know if there are any others that you would like.

Religious Market Theory - Belief in Society - Sociology A2

(1)
This is a complete lecture/lesson for Religious Market Theory. Timings and tasks are included as part of the PowerPoint and there is a differentiated sociologist chart for students to use. Students, as part of this lesson, should be taking notes. However, weaker students can benefit from having this PowerPoint as a hand out on which they can also make notes - the information is there. The lesson is adaptable to meet the needs of your students and you can add your own subject knowledge as part of this. It's easy to edit. ** N.B. The background does not save with the transparency settings changed. Right click and set transparency to 75% for good effect. **

Feminism & Religion

(0)
This is a complete lesson about the Feminist Theory of Religion. This covers the essentials of what must be covered for the A Level exam with AQA Sociology and there is plenty of room left to add sociologists that are in line with your personal subject knowledge. The lesson package has a fully adaptable lesson plan, powerpoint, differentiated worksheet and mini activity ideas. It is adaptable for GCSE lessons by changing wording, and removing the evaluative task at the end; however, this is aimed at A Level students at all grades. This also has a good overlap with Religious Studies and has adaptable parts. It is suggested that you place students into pairs at the start of the lesson as there are several group tasks. Please do review this if you have the time.

Definition of Religion - Introduction to A2 Sociology Religion & Belief

(0)
A complete lesson plan with PowerPoint, worksheets, stretch and challenge material and differentiated tasks. This lesson goes through definitions of religion, introducing sociologists to A2 students that research into this area. There is an extended amount of sociologists included here which are not included on the specification, as well as those that are included. By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to articulate the different definitions of religion and link them to sociologists that proposed them. Equally, students will be equipped to make their own definitions and have an in-depth knowledge of Ao2 evaluative points about definitions of religion.

Marxism and Religion (Sociology)

This resource is a complete lesson which is fully adaptable; the content is specifically about Marxism and Sociology. This is a good overview, with extension work, of the perspective of Marxism in regards to religion. There is a worksheet, a differentiated activity, whole lesson presentation (with hyperlink to a good video resource), and an extended reading task for G&T. This is aimed at students at the beginning of A2 but could be easily adapted for those doing GCSE. The lesson range covers target grades of A*- E. It is recomended that you check the differentiated task before using to ensure that it is the right level for your pupils; equally, do also check the PPT and ensure that you have the resources needed (tablets, interactive whiteboard/projector). I hope your pupils get the most they can out of this lesson and if you have any feedback then please do comment and review. Thanks.

Belief Without Belonging - Postmodernity & Religion - Sociology A2

(0)
This lesson is designed to take students through Grace Davie's theory 'Belief Without Belonging'. The lesson involves an independent research task which has a skeleton structure to it, making it fully adaptable to the needs of the class by the teacher. There is also a ready made 'pairs' game which helps revise previous content - this would make an excellent starter. There is a differentiated sociologist chart to be filled in as part of a class task. All timings for the lesson are incorporated into the PowerPoint - this lesson has been designed to be fully adaptable to any length of time. Equally, there is a suggested homework task at the end for your students. I hope you enjoy this lesson, please do leave feedback.

Spiritual Shopping & Lyon - Sociology AS - Beliefs in Society

This is a full lesson which comes with complete powerpoint (timings included), differentiated sociologist chart, and tasks throughout to maintain engagement. It has all information on slides for those that also like to teach from the front - print slides out as a handout to give as core notes for pupils. All tasks are fully adaptable to ability in class and timings can be flexible with this lesson. The lesson covers Hervieu-Leger (2000; 2006) and Lyon (2000) and gives room for more able students to identify wider studies which can support or negate these theories at the same time as weaker students being able to go in depth with the main studies required from the topic. The lesson plan is incorporated into the PowerPoint. **N.B: The background to the slides, for some reason, does not upload with the transparency setting it was created with - to change this, right click on one of the slides and change the settings to the background**

Religious Studies - Bible as a Source of Authority

(0)
This is a full lecture on the Bible as a source of authority. It contains an overview of everything that the students will need to know about the Bible in order to access top marks in the exam. Please note: this lesson should be followed up with another lesson of activities. This would easily be adaptable for other exam boards but was taught as part of an AQA specification.

Religious Studies/Philosophy: Natural Moral Law Lecture/Lesson

(0)
This was a lecture delivered to FE students on Natural Moral Law as part of the Religious Studies A Level. There is a quick activity that is also part of the lesson but is easy to adapt out of it. Equally, this lecture could easily be adaptable to all specs in RS and some Moral Philosophy but was originally taught as part of an AQA A Level RS.

God Essay Revision Lesson - AQA A Level Religious Studies

(0)
This is a whole lesson planned for revising the content of the topic of God whilst also focusing on essay writing. Written as part of AQA scheme of work but easily adaptable to other exam boards. Included is a writing frame (normally sold separately) which helps students structure their essays. - This is a differentiation tool. This lesson was used by myself as part of a formal observation and is OFSTED ready. It's fully customizable and also employs paired and group work. Use of ICT is good, it also has quirky Star Wars characters in it which can be edited out. The background is winter themed - again, easily changed and content remains the same.
AQA Religious Studies Christianity Revision Lesson

AQA Religious Studies Christianity Revision Lesson

(0)
This a revision lesson that is planned over the course of two and a half hours. Each information sheet is used STRICTLY for revision and to jog the memory of students. This should be used in conjunction with their notes, textbooks and other resources given to them by the teacher. The PowerPoint is basic and ready to be adapted and designed how the teacher wants - some institutions like a uniform design. The timers and sounds are programmed in as there is a change every 15mins. Although not on the PowerPoint, this lesson should end with a quick assessment of the teachers design to check progress.
